Medical Review Board

The 10-Point Audit Matrix

To secure the "Accredited" status on BestDentalSG, dental facilities in Singapore are evaluated against ten metrics to protect patient safety, prevent financial exploitation, and guarantee clinical consistency.

1. Professional Licensing & Credentials

Every practicing dentist in the facility must hold an active registration with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC). Credentials, qualifications, and specialties are verified quarterly against official registries.

2. Complete Fee Transparency

Clinics must provide an itemized list of all diagnostic, surgical, and materials fees. Hidden facility charges, mandatory consumable markups, or undisclosed sterile kit fees are grounds for immediate exclusion.

3. Infection Control & Sterilization

Clinics must meet or exceed Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) standards for autoclave performance, instrument validation, and sterile storage. Vetting includes randomized physical audits of infection-prevention pipelines.

4. CHAS, PG, MG & MediSave Accreditation

Clinics should support government medical subsidies (Community Health Assist Scheme, Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation) and maintain accurate, ethical billing models for surgical extractions utilizing CPF MediSave claims.

5. Diagnostic Equipment Integrity

Accredited clinics must host modernized, low-radiation diagnostic imaging equipment on-site (such as digital panoramic or Cone Beam Computed Tomography / CBCT scans) to support precise clinical decisions.

6. Division of Specialist Labor

High-complexity surgical cases (such as bone grafts, sinus lifts, or impacted wisdom teeth close to mandibular nerves) must be triaged to registered dental specialists (Oral Surgeons or Prosthodontists).

7. Longitudinal Outcome Vetting

We evaluate long-term patient feedback and post-procedural complication frequencies (e.g., implant failures, nerve paresthesia, root canal infection recurrences) to ensure consistent clinical quality.

8. Physical Accessibility & Safety

Facilities must comply with local safety guidelines, including wheelchair-accessible access ways, clear signage, emergency first-aid kits, and proper disposal of medical biohazards.

9. Ethical Advertising Protocols

Clinics are audited to ensure their advertising copy does not promise unrealistic aesthetic outcomes or make misleading discount claims. All marketing statements must be grounded in peer-reviewed scientific proof.

10. Medical Board Approval

Finally, the overall compliance profile must be signed off by a panel review from our independent Clinical Governance Board to ensure absolute neutrality and prevent conflicts of interest.
